Waitrose Bracknell Chilled Distribution Centre

The 11,000m2 Chilled Distribution Centre for Waitrose at their Headquarters in Bracknell was completed in 2009 by RG Projects.  The scheme involved the demolition of existing office buildings to make way for the state of the art Distribution Centre and adjoining 2 storey office facility.

Carter Design Group provide a multidisciplinary design and coordination service to deliver the scheme which required a significant redesign of the existing external works to allow the movement of heavy goods vehicles around the site.  This incorporated expansive retaining wall systems in order to work around the existing site levels.

The building itself is required to operate at chilled conditions meaning air tightness was a key consideration in design and construction of the facility ensuring the building would be efficient and operational from day one.
