Having delivered Phase 1 of the development with R G Carter, we worked alongside the client team in defining the site layout, infrastructure requirements and overall development strategy for Phases 2 and 3, the latter of which is intended for planning approval early 2024.  Our input at this early stage brought substantial benefits through our knowledge of local ground conditions, our relationships and engagement routes with key statutory stakeholders, and inherent construction/buildability knowledge.

Working with key supply chain partners, we developed timber frame construction solutions to provide off site manufacture, and speed of construction, whilst realising efficiencies in foundation design, and achieving the stringent requirements of PASSIVHAUS standards.

Our foundation design solutions varied across the expansive development site, responded to the complex ground conditions, including solution feature risk, and working with geotechnical specialist to determine zoning of areas of ground risk across the site, including ground improvement methods where required, and design of specialist and innovative retailing structures to overcome the challenging site topography.

We provided full civil engineering design services for the roads, drainage and infrastructure to local and national standards, ensuring a seemless adoption process the relevant authorities.
