Tesco, Brent Park

Full refurbishment, internal alterations together with complex full glazed curved canopy front elevation for Tesco Stores Limited.

CDG provided full Civil and Structural Engineering design services from concept to completion.  The design commenced in January 2010 with handover in competition in November 2010

The existing building was constructed in 1983 and was constructed with a combination of precast concrete columns and steel trussed roof structure on piled foundations.  The modifications included full removal of the entire existing front façade structure and replacement with feature curved steel framed canopy structure.  Temporary works details were provided to support existing structure to allow removal of existing columns.

Traditional pad foundations were generally adopted for the new works , with the exception of the new lift which was piled.
