Peckover Primary School

Development of a high quality, new modular eco nursery, with associated outdoor play to accommodate a further 52 pupils, including provision of an additional 30 on site parking spaces and extension to the main primary school.

The site proximity to the River Nene resulted in the project falling within Flood Zone 3. Working closely with the Environment Agency CDG were able to develop a design incorporating a safe refuge space, though creating a protection bund on site, both eliminating the need to increase site levels and keeping all excavated materials on site.

Following sustainable design principles, the multidisciplinary CDG design team supported the use of a low energy SIP eco classroom, with isolated shallow pad foundations, permeable pavements and ‘off mains’ foul water treatment.
