Marshfields School

Our structural and civil engineering team worked alongside project architects HBS, and contractor RG Carter, to deliver the new Studio Block at the Marshfields School in Peterborough; providing a 175-place SEND school for students aged 10 – 19. The building provides the school with flexible educational space including a large multi-purpose hall, which can be split into three with folding screens, two one-to-one rooms, and a breakout space.

With the intricacies of the feature brick cladding, recessed down pipes and other features, our team provided bespoke design solutions to ensure stability and restraint to the wall panels.

To ensure that the contractor could access the very tight site, whilst protecting the users of the live school, we carried out detailed modelling of construction vehicle access routes using our tracking software.

Our civil engineers provided pavement and drainage designs, including undertaking all negotiations with the statutory bodies on behalf of the contractor.
