Kitchen Gardens, Gnome Campus

The main works included enclosure of courtyard space around the Francis Crick Auditoruim, refurbishment and extension of the Rosalind Franklin Pavilion for the Wellcome Trust.

Apart from the complex roof structure framing which was designed by Wagner Biro, our team were the Structural and Civil Engineers responsible for the development of the ARUP concept proposals for construction.

We developed the initial engineering concept designs to deliver alongside our piling specialists GM Piling a piled foundation solution to support the complex roof structure.

Our civil engineering team provided hydraulic modelling of the complete Genome Campus drainage network, to assess the impact on the site of conveying flows from the new building into an existing network with a history of flooding.

We assisted the contractor throughout the works providing temporary works design and sequencing advice through all stages including demolition and remodelling of the existing buildings.
