Colin Forbes Building
(Earth Sciences Store)

Our client required the expansion of their existing two storey A.G. Brighton Building, to provide additional storage space for the Geological Collections of the Sedgwick Museum, CASP Collection, and the Department of Earth Sciences. The building incorporates a Curatorial workspace for studying and preparing items from the collection, along with additional storage and utility spaces, and a multifunctional Archival Research Room.

With a keen interest in ground engineering and soil mechanics, our team were delighted to be involved on the project!

Working alongside architects Saunders Boston, our team provided structural engineering design services, including steel frame design and foundation design solutions to meet the site conditions, along with civil engineering designs for pavements and drainage solutions that addressed the challenging conditions and constraints of the compact site.
