Addenbroookes Hospital Multi-Storey Car Park

The multi-storey car park facility, which is located on the Addenbrookes Cambridge University Hospital site, and operated by NCP, provides a total parking provision of 1,050 spaces over seven stories.

The car park has been constructed utilizing modern construction methods and materials such as composite cladding and curtain glazing to the lift cores together with bespoke aero-foil louvres and decorative panel fenestration to the main car park area.  A pedestrian link bridge was incorporated to overcome level constraints and link the car park with the existing hospital infrastructure.

Within the car park, provision for less-abled people has been incorporated, which includes a mobility facility, disabled parking and specially designed circulation routes.

As part of the scheme design development, our team simplified the car park circulation, and enhanced the design life of the facility through the incorporation of a lightweight roof which also provided ecological benefits through reduced light spillage and water quality.

CDG carried out full engineering design services, along with materials engineering and site support / quality assurance.
